Honduran Rosewood (Dalbergia stevensonii) is well known for its acoustic properties and is commonly used in musical instruments as well as fine furniture and turnings. Heartwood ranges from light brown to deep purplish brown; brownish-mauve color is most common. Sometimes has contrasting darker brown stripes. Sharply demarcated sapwood is pale yellow. It is a dense species with natural oils that can make gluing difficult.

Features:
  • Light brown to deep purplish brown
  • Can be somewhat difficult to machine
  • High oil content can prove difficult to glue
  • Native to Honduras
Specifications:
  • Thickness: 1-1/2"
  • Width: 1-1/2"
